On Goodness

Mira and her rock band friends :)

I hope you enjoy the quote below!!!

"Imaginary evil is romantic and varied;
real evil is gloomy, monotonous,
barren,and boring.
Imaginary good is boring;

real good is always new,
, and intoxicating."

These pictures are from "forced family fun day.".....where we all go somewhere as a family on the weekend and they don't know where we are going.
This was at the West Side Market and also at an art show in Ohio City.....Mira and Macy each had a palm reading.
I hope you enjoy the words below!!

If there is light in the soul,
There will be beauty in the person.

If there is beauty in the person,
There will be harmony in the house.

If there is harmony in the house,
There will be order in the nation.

If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.

-Chinese Proverb

On being alive

These are baseball related pictures of Marko.
He says "Baseball is my passion."
One picture was taken at the Indian's Game.
My dad has taken him the past two Friday nights and he got to meet Mustard last week.
The other is of him playing ball.....he is in a fall baseball league.
I hope you enjoy the words below!!

I honor those who try to
rid themselves of any lying,
who empty the self and
have only clear being there.

Beauty in the world

This is why I like to work on Tuesdays.
Keeper, the pet therapy dog, comes to visit our unit on Tuesday...and my friend Darlene!!!
I hope you enjoy the prayer below....it is written by Jim Cotter, an Episcopal priest.
It is his version of the Lord's Prayer and it is very beautiful.

"Eternal Spirit,
Life-Giver, Pain-Bearer, Love-Maker,

Source of all that is and that shall be,

Father and Mother of us all,

Loving God, in whom is heaven:

The Hallowing of your Name
echo through the universe!
The Way of your Justice
be followed by all created beings!
Your Heavenly Will
be done by all created beings!
Your Commonwealth of Peace and Freedom

sustain our hope and come on earth!

With the bread we need for today,
feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another,
forgive us.
In time of temptation and test,
strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure,
spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil,
free us.
For you reign in the glory
of the owner that is love,
now and for ever.

Fall 2009 Issue
In his famous existentialist essay Being and Nothingness, John Paul Sartre attempts to answer a question that had eluded philosophers such as Descartes, Kant, and Leibniz, and to a lesser extent Heidegger and Bergson: “How does being relate to nothingness?”

Now, in the 21st Century, I am attempting to answer the question, “How does wellbeing relate to somethingness?”

It is not an easy thing to do. But it is certainly worth the attempt. I believe wellbeing creates somethingness, but the challenge is, how do you successfully cultivate wellbeing? It has been suggested that the collusion of mind-body-spirit is the basis for wellbeing, but I am here to suggest that this does not go far enough.

I believe there are seven dimensions of human experience, as opposed to the three (mind-body-spirit) that we have heretofore been focusing upon.

We do indeed have a mental, physical and spiritual dimension of human experience, but we also have an integrated-human, or social dimension; a non-human dimension that takes in animals and technology; an ecological dimension that is our link to the earth; and a dimension of larger cause that encompasses the extent to which we identify with a specific tribe or group.

In this issue, we begin the journey to bring greater clarity to how to embrace these seven dimensions of human experience, to evolve the wellbeing that with an almost mathametical certainty, drives “somethingness.”

Stay tuned.

It matters not
Who you love
Where you love
Why you love
When you love
Or how you love
It matters only that you love.

life of love

You can live a life of fear or you can live a life of love. You have the choice! But I can tell you that if you choose to see a world of love, your body will respond by growing in health. If you choose to believe that you live in a dark world full of fear, your body's health will be compromised as you physiologically close yourself down in a protection response.

The Circle Game

Do you know the song "The Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell?
I love that song. I hope you enjoy the lyrics below.

The Circle Game

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

Last Saturday evening, Mark and I took the girls to the "Cultural Heritage Day/International Festival" on the square in Medina. Marko went down to stay with Grandma because he had already been up there and did not want to go again. Anyway, it was well done with numerous booths representing different countries with different foods, clothing, music, and activities.
My friend, Roz had her business represented there. Here business is called Karma essence.
I bought a Life Path Bracelet from her....which is pictured above. There were a lot of different sayings on the bracelets.....but I liked this one the best:
Outside: Joyful Fearless Loving Alive
Inside: Live as if now is all there is

It is a good reminder for me to live more loving and to be present.
Here is a link to her website in case you want to get one.
click on life path bracelet to link to the item: Life Path Bracelet
or click on Karma Essence to go to her store front: Karma Essence

I hope you enjoy the words below. They came from Gary Zukav ( I am a big Zukav fan) in my email today. It was a perfect message for me today.
Have a great day!!!

ps I choose love!!!

Love and Fear

The many different parts of your personality can be grouped into two generic categories: love and fear. In the fear category are those parts of your personality that are angry, jealous, vengeful, frightened, that feel superior or inferior, that need to please or feel entitled, among others. They are also the parts that cannot stop thinking judgmental thoughts, or thoughts of another who will complete or save them, or over-eating, drinking, watching pornography, shopping, gambling, etc. In other words, all of your obsessions, compulsions, and addictions are experiences of frightened parts of your personality. In the love category are the parts of your personality that are patient, caring, grateful, generous, etc.

The spiritual path requires you to challenge and heal the frightened parts of your personality and cultivate and strengthen the loving parts of your personality. When you challenge a frightened part of your personality again and again, it begins to lose its power over you. Eventually its power over you disintegrates. This is how to create authentic power. It is very easy to understand, but it requires practice to do and the more you practice, the more mastery you develop in your life. In other words, you are less and less in the control of frightened parts of your personality which means, for example, that you do not re-act (act again as you have habitually acted in the past) in anger when you are angry, or withdraw emotionally when you are jealous.

The choice between love and fear is the eternal choice, the never-ending demand, the longest running show on Broadway. We make that decision with each intention that we make our own, and with it bring into our experience wonderful-feeling constructive consequences (love) or painful destructive consequences (fear). Everyone chooses love instead of fear when she is not frightened. This is not redundant. Fear obscures love and when a frightened part of your personality is active, its thoughts and intentions become magnetically attractive.

Being present

I saw this sticker on a car the other day....I really liked it.
hope you enjoy the quote below!!

Brother stand the pain; Escape the poison of your impulses.
The sky will bow to your beauty, if you do. Learn to light the candle.
Rise with the sun. Turn away from the cave of your sleeping.
That way a thorn expands to a rose. A particular glows with the universal.
