Happy Halloween

isn't he pretty in pink?
Carlos....in my apartment at osu...junior year....sporting a pink nightgown.

Work your ass off to pump up the vibration.

It's deeply personal.

It's hard work.

It means re-evaluating what you do and how you do it

and how you treat others, the planet, what you buy and what you eat.

It means learning.

And it also means loving harder, more raw and real,

minimal BS, minimal waste,

figuring out true messy ugly slippery gorgeous divinity for yourself,

on your own terms, and then sharing it with the world.

True Colors

This picture was taken on 5/6/89....our wedding day.
This is a picture of two very dear friends of ours.....Robear....and Carlos sporting the scarlet and grey.
Carlos is a cop in L.A........can't you tell by the lovely colorful hairdo????
Robear is Mark's cousin...well kinda...they have known each other since babyhood....long time family friend. He owns sensational Celebrations in Woodmere...ever need any party supplies....? go see Robear and he will take good care of you.
Anyhow,
I love this song below.
beautiful..........
reminds me to keep shining.
I felt really crushed today because I was told not to
even acknowledge this needy patient.....not to even look at her.
That just goes against everything that I am about.
I always look at people in the eye and smile....
just to let them know I acknowledge their beingness.
I was told that that was giving them too much encouragement
because they are so needy.
that is not what I am about.
so I will continue to shine and smile and see the good in others.
You can't always have happiness but you can give happiness!!!
hope you have a great day!!!
see below.
Love,
Michele

You with the sad eyes

don't be discouraged

oh I realize

it's hard to take courage

in a world full of people

you can lose sight of it all

and the darkness inside you

can make you fell so small

But I see your true colors

shining through

I see your true colors

and that's why I love you

so don't be afraid to let them show

your true colors

true colors are beautiful

like a rainbow

Show me a smile then

don't be unhappy, can't remember

when I last saw you laughing

if this world makes you crazy

and you've taken all you can bear

you call me up

because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors

shining through

I see your true colors

and that's why I love you

so don't be afraid to let them show

your true colors

true colors are beautiful

like a rainbow

The path of nonresistance

This is a picture of Mark and Carlos outside of my apartment at Ohio State.
I laugh whenever I see this picture. I love the note below...hope you do too Love, Michele

Sydney Harris, the distinguished news columnist, tells of visiting a friend for a weekend. Each evening, he would walk to the corner with the friend to by the evening newspaper. The man would be cheerful and pleasant but the newsie would always reply with a grunt.

Harris commented one night, “He is a mighty unpleasant fellow, isn’t he?” The friend replied, “Oh, he is always that way.” But why are you so nice to him?” The answer is a classic that reflects a deep understanding of nonresistance. The friend said, “But why should I let him determine how I am going to act?”

Here was a man who knew that his chief responsibility in life was to act the part of his divinity. Why should he let any man on the street cause him to lower his consciousness and thus reduce his whole experience of life?

Remember, you may not be able to change or control the people around you, but you can determine the level of consciousness on which you meet them and react to them. This is one of the most significant discoveries that man can make.

Here's to the crazy ones

Carlos with cup
this is a picture of one of the most fun friends I know. His name is Carlos. I met him my freshman year at Ohio State.
He was in the boys dorm, Park hall 7th floor and I was in the girls dorm, Stradley hall 7th floor.
He is like my brother that I never had.....he was in our wedding and is someone I still just love to be around. What do I adore about him???? well it is his Humor!!!! His energy changes the mood in the room.....he can make anyone laugh....Now .....He is a cop for the LAPD and he has been there about 11 years. He still calls on all the holidays and at various times during the year. Our kids love him.....Marko thinks he is a big kid.
so here's to you Carlos....the below quote is for you!!!! Love, Michele

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kinds of people. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Once upon a time.....a long, long, long time ago...like way back in 1984, one of my college friends named Carlos, came home with me from Ohio State for a visit and to eat some real food. During his visit, he dressed up like this mad person and then went with my mom and I to the airport to pick up Mark. My mom and I hid and a huge crowd gathered round to watch CARLOS jump on top of Mark and yell " DAD." Some people coming off of the plane even took pictures of the event.
the end.

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
Cheshire Cat: Oh, you can't help that. Most everyone's mad here.
[Laughs maniacally; starts to disappear]
Cheshire Cat: You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself.
