Oneness

There are sacred moments in life
when we experience in rational and
very direct ways that separation,
the boundary between ourselves
and other people and between ourselves
and Nature, is illusion.
Oneness is reality.
We can experience that stasis is illusory and
that reality is continual flux

and change on very subtle and also
on gross levels of perception.
- Charlene Spretnak

the heart

Does the rose have to do something?

No, the purpose of a rose is to be a rose. Your purpose is to be yourself.

You don't have to run anywhere to become someone else.

You are wonderful just the way you are.

This teaching of the Buddha allows us to enjoy ourselves,

the blue sky, and everything that is refreshing

and healing in the present moment.

We already have everything we are looking for,

everything we want to become.

We are already a Buddha

so why not just take the hand of another Buddha

and practice walking meditation?

Just be.

Just being in the moment

in this place is the deepest practice of meditation.

The Heart Sutra says that there is "nothing to attain."

We meditate not to attain enlightenment,

because enlightenment is already in us.

We don't need to search anywhere.

We don't need to practice to obtain some high position.

We can enjoy every moment.

People talk about entering nirvana, but we are already there.

Aimlessness and nirvana are one.

We have everything we need to make the present moment the happiest in our life,

even if we have a cold or a headache.

We don't have to wait until we get over our cold to be happy.

Having a cold is part of life. I am happy in the present moment.

I do not ask for anything else. I do not expect any additional happiness.

Aimlessness is stopping and realizing the happiness that is already available.

connection with the divine

Happy Birthday Marko!!!!!
I swear that ever since
the first day You brought me back to life,
The day You became my Friend,
I have not slept --
And even if You drive me from your door,
I swear again that we will never be separated--
Because You are alive in my heart.

the best gifts

Deep down inside we know
that the best gifts
don't come from catalogs
or shopping malls
They don't come in brightly-colored packages
or fancy envelopes
and they're not sitting under a tree somewhere...
The best gifts come from the heart.
They come when we look at each other
REALLY look at each other
and say 'You mean a lot to me'
or 'I'm so glad you're a part of my life'
A gift like that
will never go out of style
or be forgotten
or be returned for a different size.
A gift like that can change the world.

Passion

When we experience moments of epiphany or insight
and when we notice our heart’s desire for something
we’re passionate about, we recognize the possibility
that there might be more to life than we know.

Letting go

"Stop Being So Religious"

What
Do Sad people have in
Common?

It seems
They have all built a shrine
To the past

And often go there
And do a strange wail and
Worship.

What is the beginning of
Happiness?

It is to stop being
so religious
Like
That.

what is in your heart

Mark made this....
another beautiful word from Rumi below
namaste,
Michele

Keep knocking, and the joy inside
will eventually open a window
and look out to see who's there.
-Rumi

Namaste,
Michele
The trick is to realize that the shit that falls on you is fertilizer.

love

This is my dad on Halloween....he always dresses up and
passes out candy.
Pretty nice....huh?
Have a great day!!!
Love,
Michele,

There are only four questions of value in life...
What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made?

What is worth living for?
And what is worth dying for?
The answer to each is the same...
Only love.

letting go

A friend of ours gave me this card. I liked it so much that I framed it.
It is very simple and to the point......and something I need to do more of.
I am learning to just let go....
read below.
love,
Michele

Author Unknown

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.

On Friendship

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us,
we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice,
solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain
and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand.
The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion,
who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing
and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

love

Love is the ultimate answer. Love is not an abstraction
but an actual energy, or spectrum of energies,
which you can "create" and maintain in your being.
Just be loving. You are beginning to touch God within yourself.
Feel loving. Express your love.

Love dissolves fear. You cannot be afraid
when you are feeling love.
Since everything is energy,
and love encompasses all energies, all is love.
