Power to the Peaceful!

My favorite yoga video! :)
Namaste!

Your inner child wants to come out and play!!!

Grown-ups never understand anything for themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them.

wisdom

I see peace!!!!!!
I hope you do too.
Namaste,
Michele

This is how a human being can change:
there's a worm in the garden addicted to leaves.
Suddenly, it wakes up.
Call it grace, whatever you will,
something awakens it,
and its no longer a worm.
Now its flying over the entire garden,
and the orchard too,
with its fruit and its sea of leaves.
Inside is a growing wisdom and joy
that doesn't need to devour anything
anymore.

compassion

This program is coming to our schools. I am hoping that Macy gets picked to participate.
It is a very powerful program which deals with bullies. Bullying is a major problem in schools and even workplaces.
I have witnessed both lately. This is about spreading kindness and compassion to others. I think it is a big concern of Macy's school lately and on the minds of the faculty because a classmate of Macy's brought a loaded gun to school last year.

Love

"So many people walk around with [what some think is] a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

Try new things. Change again. Make another change. Experiment with something else.
You will certainly know better things and worse things than those you already know, but that does not matter. What matters most is change, movement, dynamism, energy.
Only what is dead does not change – and you are alive.
-Paulo Coelho

Love

There's only one word large enough to describe "All that is," and that's the word love.

celebrating my mom's birthday

The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes!!!!

Love

‎"When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed."

Boxland

For the second year in a row, Mira participated in "Boxland." She slept in a cardboard box all night up at the football field to bring attention to the plight of the homeless and poverty. Thank you Cheryl Kruczek for the awesome pictures!!!!

Please read the quote below and enjoy!!!!
Namaste,
Michele

"If I had my child to raise all over again,I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.I would do less correcting and more connecting.I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.I'd take more hikes and fly more kites. I'd stop being serious and seriously play. I'd run through more fields and gaze at more starts. I 'd do more hugging and less tugging!!!!

connection

We cannot suffer well unless we see Christ everywhere--both in suffering and in the charity of
those who come to the aid of our affliction.

- Thomas Merton, "No Man is an Island"

Allowing

We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. God will be constantly
crossing our paths and cancelling our plans by sending us people with claims and
petitions. We may pass them by, preoccupied with our more important tasks, as the priest passed by the man who had fallen among thieves, ..... it is part of the discipline of humility that we must not spare our hand
where it can perform a service and we do not assume that our schedule is our own to
manage, but allow it to be arranged by God.

- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Connection

Above is a view from our van :) I hope you enjoy the words below. Namaste, Michele

‎"Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others...By and large, I have come to see that if we complain about life, it is because we are thinking only of ourselves."
— Gordon B. Hinckley

The search for someone to blame is always successful!
