"It is time to fill the world with strong and powerful deeds. It is common
knowledge that no great captain in the world has ever destroyed all of his
enemies and lived with a sense of satisfaction. If one enemy is killed, two
more will appear. It is important we cultivate love and compassion to all
the sentient beings which is the way to bring peace to all."
-- Dalai Lama
In my next life, I am coming back as a cat!!!!
If we want world peace, we must let go of our attachments and truly live like nomads. That's where I no mad at you and you no mad at me. That way there will surely be nomadness on the planet. Peace begins with each of us. A little peace here, a little peace there. Pretty soon all the peaces will fit together to make one big peace everywhere. -Swami Beyondananda

Be miserable or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice. If we focus on what's ugly, we attract more ugliness into our thoughts, and then into our emotions, and ultimately into our lives. When You Change the Way You Look at Things the Things You Look at Change!"

We got to make our annual beer tonight.
There is sooooooo much beauty in the world....please don't let it go.
Find it and give thanks to the universe for getting to notice it!!!!
The universe is unfolding just as it should!!!!

a view from Cincinnati's riverfront
You may live or work around a bunch of weeds,
but don’t let that stop you from blooming.
Realize that your environment
does not prevent you from being happy.
...Some people spend all their time
trying to pull up all the weeds.
Meanwhile, they miss much of their lives.
Don’t worry about things you can’t change.
You can’t change the traffic in the morning.
You can’t fix everybody at work..
But you shouldn’t let that
keep you from being happy.
Bloom anyway and focus on
the things that you can change.
You can change your own attitude.
You can choose to be happy right where you are.
These are drawings that I made on the WALL of our old psychiatric unit. I loved coloring on the walls!!! That was before we moved off of the main campus. There are some things that I miss about our old unit.....mostly certain people.....some of which I will never see again....sigh.
Sometimes I wish I could treat everyone as though I will never see them again.
I would be a lot happier to see them and probably go out of my way to be kinder.
I guess that is how we should greet everyone!!!!
Anyway, I hope enjoy the words below!!!
You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a
different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter
of paying attention to this miracle.

Macy just got back from her class trip to Washington DC....I think eating at Medievil times was her favorite. She and Emily bought lightsabers.
This world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong.

Mark and I went on the Further tour in Cincinnati on Sunday!!!
What a fun time!!!
Thousands of things go right for you every single day, beginning the
moment you wake up. Through some magic you don't fully understand,
you're still breathing and your heart is beating, even though you've been
unconscious for many hours. -Rob Brezny
I was thinking about my old friend Reed today. He is pictured above from a picture that my friend recently posted on facebook. I met Reed when I was 16 and working at McDonalds. He would come in and eat all alone and so I adopted him....and he adopted me and my friends. I think this was a picture during winter break from college my sophomore year.
I hope you enjoy the quote below.
There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind. But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life.” – Unknown

Above is a picture of our back porch......a place of peace for me.
I hope you enjoy Ken Wilbur's essay below. :)
"Where is Spirit located?"
Here's a simple thought experiment. Picture the following men (or make them women if you like), and then tell me which you think are probably the
1. A man in an Armani suit.
2. A man driving a red Ferrari.
3. A man pitching baseball in the major leagues.
4. A professional comedian.
5. A mathematician.
6. A man in a tank top lifting weights.
7. An Olympic swimmer.
8. A college professor.
9. A model.
10. A sexual surrogate.
Which do you think is the most spiritual? Which do you think is the least spiritual?
It's funny, isn't it, the things we think are not spiritual? Why do we picture most of these people as not being very spiritual? Or conversely, why do we
have such a hard time seeing them as being spiritual? Aren't we actually just giving our own prejudices about where we think spirit is or is not to be
Or worse: aren't we really just announcing how old and fragmented and NOT INTEGRAL our ideas about spirit are? Why is telling jokes not spiritual?
Why is something beautiful – a car, a suit – not spiritual? Why is physical excellence not spiritual? Why is sex not spiritual? Why is…
It's a new world, it's a new spirituality, it's a new time, it's a new man, it's a new woman. All of the above categories are deeply spiritual. Mostly all
that list is, is a list of things we are afraid to allow spirituality to touch.
Dead from the neck down, with no humor, no sex, no aesthetic sensibility whatsoever, wasting away, spending one's days and nights ignoring the
world and lost in prayer…what a strange God that is.

Our friend, Steve just bought a teepee.
Isn't it cool?
He said he is getting a fire pit in the middle and we are invited over for a drum circle!!! Sounds like fun!!!
Hope you enjoy the words below!!!
“Before you speak,
think -Is it necessary?
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Will it hurt anyone?
Will it improve on the silence?”

Today has been awesome so far.....got to have breakfast with my highschool friends.....then went to a book reading with them.
My friend Katie is in town for a book reading.......She wrote a memoir about finding her birthmother. She is pictured above with her birthmother.
I hope you enjoy the quote below.
Kate's book link
"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusio...n, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the [perceived] reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares."

Mark's pumpkin doesn't feel very good.
Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you. Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world, Same world.
