Here and Now

We have forgotten what rocks, plants, and
animals still know. We have forgotten how to be-
to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is:
HERE AND NOW.

On Manifesting

I drew this picture today when I was doing art with some of the kids
at work. I am not sure what it is or what to call it.

If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable,
you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.

on being genuine

This is a bus that I spotted the other day. Beautiful.....isn't it????
Have a great day!!
Namaste,
Michele

There is something in every one of you that waits and listens for the sound of the genuine in yourself. It is the only true guide you will ever have. And if you cannot hear it, you will all of your life spend your days on the ends of strings that somebody else pulls.

My New Favorite Song

Mickey and Minnie

Mira and Macy dressed up like Mickey and Minnie for our next door neighbor's birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Brooke loves Mickey and Minnie. I hope you enjoy the quote below.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands;
you need to be able to throw something back.

Bob-O-Que

Bob Frantz, me and Michael Laird

My dad won this backyard "Bob-O-Cue" from the radio station WTAM.
Bob Frantz has a radio show on wtam from 7pm to midnight.

He also hosts pre-and-post game shows for the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Browns (WTAM serves as the flagship station for all three teams), as well as appearing on SportsTime Ohio as an occasional guest host for Bruce Drennan on All Bets Are Off.

Bob Frantz wants to throw a Bob-O-Cue at your house this summer! You don’t have to do anything but register to win and invite all your friends! Angies Rib Wagon brings the food and does the cooking! Another summer of Bob-o-Cues, presented by Marc’s and Kowalski Ford! Look to Marc’s for everything you need for summer grilling at the lowest prices in town! Marc’s – you’re summer grilling solution!

anyway, the Bob-O-Cue was fun and Bob brought one of my old classmates with him....Michael Laird who also works with him......small world.
I hope you enjoy the quote below!!!

But the Master makes use of it, embracing his

on trusting

"The moment you come to trust chaos, you see God clearly.
Chaos is

divine order, versus human order.
Change is divine order, versus human

order.
When the chaos becomes safety to you,
then you know you're

seeing God clearly."

Love

Our whole family went to the Indian's game last night and we spotted Elvis.
Above is a picture of my dad and Elvis.
I hope you enjoy the words below......I posted them over two years ago....but I still think of them often. They are good reminders for me.

Michele

Quotes by Margot Silk Forrest

If you wait to be invited, you might never get to go anywhere interesting.

What if we decided to love each other with the same speed at which we decide to hate each other?

There’s a spiral in the healing process. Some of the things you deal with early on and you think you have laid them to rest, but as you grow and your life changes, they come around again and you get to heal them on a much higher level. This used to really frustrate me, but now I see it is part of the process.

Are we ever done with healing? I reframe this question to, are we ever done with growing? For me, the answer is I hope not. I hope I grow until the day I die.

We can’t force a flower to open or a carrot to grow. Nor can we force our own process nor make it go faster.

The real crime of the heart is never to reveal it.

On solving problems

All the greatest and most important problems

The here and now

We had a beautiful weekend camping at Findley State Park.
I hope you enjoy the words below.....what wise words and written so long ago!!
Namaste,
Michele

Remember that there is only one important time and that is Now. The present moment is the only time over which we have dominion. The most important person is always the person with whom you are, who is right before you, for who knows if you will have dealings with any other person in the future. The most important pursuit is making that person, the one standing at your side, happy, for that alone is the pursuit of life."
-Leo Tolstoy

Irritation is Unnecessary

Irritation is unnecessary:

becoming irritated with others means giving them the power to interfere in our lives.

It is imperative to overcome this feeling.

By no means should the acts of others distract us from our only alternative in life:

coming in touch with the infinite.

-Carlos Casteneda

wow, wow, wow!!!

Super radiance

Our natural state of being is in relationship,
a tango, a constant state of
one influencing the other.
Just as the subatomic particles that compose us
cannot be separated from the space and particles surrounding them,
so living
beings cannot be isolated from each other...
By the act of observation and
intention, we have the ability
to extend a kind of super-radiance to the
world.

Life is such

We got to spend the weekend at my friend Arlene's house in Ashtabula.
She lives right on Lake Erie.....such a beautiful friend and such a relaxing weekend. Thank you Arlene!!!
Namaste,
Michele

People don't talk about the soul very much anymore.
It's so much easier to write a resume than to craft a spirit.
But a resume is cold comfort on a winter's night, or when you're sad,
or broke, or lonely, or when you've received your test results
and they're not so good.
Here is my resume: I am a good mother to three children.
I have tried never to let my work stand in the way
of being a good parent.
I no longer consider myself the centre of the universe.
I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband.
I have tried to make marriage vows mean what they say.
I am a good friend to my friends and them to me.
Without them, there would be nothing to say to you today,
because I would be a cardboard cut out.
But I call them on the phone and I meet them for lunch.
I would be rotten, at best mediocre, at my job
if those other things were not true.
You cannot be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are.
So here's what I wanted to tell you today: Get a life.
A real life, not a manic pursuit of the next promotion,
the bigger pay cheque, the larger house.
Do you think you'd care so very much about those things
if you blew an aneurysm one afternoon
or found a lump in your breast?
Get a life in which you notice the smell
of salt water pushing itself on a breeze at the seaside,
a life in which you stop and watch
how a red-tailed hawk circles over the water,
or the way a baby scowls with concentration
when she tries to pick up a sweet with her thumb and first finger.

Stillness

We got to talk to the animals at the fair!!!
I hope you enjoy the words below.
Namaste,
Michele

We spend most of our time and energy in a kind of horizontal thinking. We move along the surface of things [but] there are times when we stop. We sit still. We lose ourselves in a pile of leaves or its memory. We listen and breezes from a whole other world begin to whisper. James Carroll

For Today

TODAY ~ Mend a quarrel. Search out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a love letter. Share some treasure. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in a word or deed.
TODAY ~ Keep a promise. Find the time. Forego a grudge.
Forgive an enemy. Listen. Apologize if you were wrong.
Try to understand. Flout envy. Examine your demands on others.
Think first of someone else. Appreciate, be kind, be gentle.
Laugh a little more.

TODAY ~ Deserve confidence. Take up arms against malice.
Decry complacency. Express your gratitude. Worship your God.
Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty
and wonder of the earth. Speak it again. Speak it still again.
Speak it still once again.

On Being Alive

We got together to celebrate a special friend's birthday the other night. Happy Birthday Sue!!!!
I think she was surprised!!!

I hope you like the words below!!!
namaste,
Michele

remember that you are still a student,
still learning how to best treasure your connection to others.

Pick up the phone. Send an e-mail. Write a letter. Kiss your Mom. Hug your
Dad. Get a life in which you are generous.
Look around at the azaleas in the suburban neighborhood where you grew up;
look at a full moon hanging silver in a black, black sky on a cold night.

Realize that life is the best thing ever, and that you have no business
taking it for granted. Care so deeply about its goodness that give it to
charity.

Work in a soup kitchen. Be a big brother or sister. Do All of you want to do
well. But if you do not do good, too, then doing well will never be
enough.

It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, our minutes. It is
so easy to take for granted the color of the azaleas, the sheen of the
limestone on Fifth Avenue, the color of our kid's eyes, the way the melody
in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again.

-Ann Quindlen
