On being in nature

Had such an awesome time camping this weekend.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and the quote below.

Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.

Nothing beats being out in nature!!!!

Play Ball!!!!!!

Tonight we celebrated that Marko's team is in first place....but also knowing that it is all about the journey and not the destination :)

I like someone who embraces life; who wants to be on a long journey but has no particular plan or destination in mind. An adventurous man, open to the concept of living life in the moment.

still in school

I loved the words below.......I really don't want to have any drama or bad feelings with anyone.....we are all here to learn from each other....and help each other. Sometimes I feel really bad for the poor communication I have allowed to happen.....but I am learning too. :)

So what to do? Two things, it seems to me. At least two. Use up
each day. Fill it overflowing with good. Deliberately enjoy it.
Two, begin now. Mend a fractured friendship, mail an overdue
letter, repair a broken heart, lay aside a grievance, act on a
noble impulse. As we all know, "The night cometh."

Let the Camping season begin!!!!

Moving too fast????

I love this story!!!

About ten years ago, a young and very successful executive named Josh was traveling down a Chicago neighborhood street. He was going a bit too fast in his sleek, black, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE, which was only two months old.

He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and - WHUMP! - it smashed Into the Jag's shiny black side door! SCREECH..!!!! Brakes slammed! Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown. Josh jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!" Building up a head of steam, he went on. "That's my new Jag, that brick you threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?"

"Please, mister, please. . . I'm sorry! I didn't know what else to do!" Pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop!" Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car. "It's my brother, mister," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the young executive tried desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining, he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be OK. He then watched the younger brother push him down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long walk back to the sleek, black, shining, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE -a long and slow walk. Josh never did fix the side door of his Jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attention. . .

Is there any place that God is not????

The other night Marko (in 3rd grade) decided to do a google image search on "God"
to see what God looked like.
He then asked me after finding this picture,
"Mom, do people think that God is a person?"

On learning Patience

I guess I am thankful for the "crazymakers" in my life for they teach me to be patient and tolerant.

I saw this movie last night with my friend Laura from work.
It was so wonderful....I might have to buy the DVD now!!!

On Being Alive

"Life is made up of moments, small pieces of glittering mica in a long stretch of gray cement. It would be wonderful if they came to us unsummoned, but particularly in lives as busy as the ones most of us lead now, that won’t happen. We have to teach ourselves how to make room for them, to love them, and to live, really live."

being alive

Anyone or anything that does not bring you alive is too small for you.

“Many of us die with the music still in us.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes

Got to see an old friend that I have known since Junior High when we went to Michigan last weekend. She took pictures of the girls dancing :) So good to see Lisa!!!
I hope you enjoy the words below!!!

Are you on auto-pilot?
Are you alive but not yet living?
Do you wonder where the last 10 or 20 or 30 years have gone? Have you allowed your music to come out?
Do you even know what your music is?
What’s holding you back from living the best, most insanely precious life you can?
You can live a fuller, richer, more intentional (and fun) life right now.
It’s a choice. (We’re always in choice)
If not now, when? -Pattie Digh

What a long, strange trip it's been!!!

The picture above is one that my friend, Nikki sent me from back "in the day."
She used to tour with the Grateful Dead!!!!! This should be on an album cover!!!!!!
She is the one sitting on the ground.
I hope you enjoy the quote below.

.........Let yourself be drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray."

This one wild and precious life

We had a nice time today for Mother's Day at the House of Hunan.

If you are waiting for anything in order to live and love without holding back, then you suffer. Every moment is the most important moment of your life. No future time is better than now to let down your guard and love.

The Soul Does Go On........

above is a picture of the music box and the picture beside it is of my Grandma.

..........I was thinking of my Grandma Benjamin on Thursday which was my 21st anniversary during my walk...and could have sworn she was there with me.....then Marko just tells me as I am tucking him in that night...."who's music box is that in the hall?".....I said "that was my Grandma Benjamin's musicbox." He says"well it went off tonight when I was running past it...I like to believe it was my grandma saying "Happy Anniversary."

You need your ego to survive in the three-dimensional world, but you need only that part of the ego which processes information. The rest - pride, arrogance, defensiveness, fear - is worse than useless. The rest of the ego separates you from wisdom, joy, and God.

Marko is playing for the Twins this year. They rolled to a 14-2 win for their first game this year. Marko went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
